Baseball - Pitchford named NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week
Jacob Pitchford was named the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week after picking up a win in his first collegiate start last week.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/19/07)--Junior Jacob Pitchford was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Pitcher of the Week.
Pitchford, an exchange cadet from Navy, made the most of his first ever collegiate appearance and start last Tuesday vs. Albion (Mich.) in Fort Myers, Fla.
The left hander went 5 2/3 innings scattering six hits and allowing just one earned run while walking four and striking out six to earn his first career win.
Coast Guard went 4-3 on the southern swing to start the season.
