Kevin Thomas had another solid outing in the Bears loss to # 26 Salisbury.
FORT MYERS, FLA.—-(3/17/07)--Alex Vitale’s RBI double in the sixth broke a 2-2 tie as Salisbury, ranked 26th nationally, beat Coast Guard 4-2 at the Gene Cusic Classic to close out the spring trip and snap the Bears three-game winning streak.

Coast Guard (4-3) struck first as Adam Reckley delivered a two out, two-run triple off the right field wall in the top of the second giving the Bears a 2-0 lead.

Salisbury (15-2) tied the game in the home half of the third inning with two RBI singles.

The Sea Gulls took the lead in the sixth on the double by Vitale, who came around to score on a wild pitch for the 4-2 lead.

Kevin Thomas (0-2) was the tough luck loser for Coast Guard. He was impressive as he went the distance scattering eight hits, allowing three earned runs, while walking two and striking out three.

Drew Campbell picked up the win as he allowed six hits over seven innings while walking just one and striking out 12.
