FORT MYERS, FLA.—-(3/16/07)--Brian Lisko was 4-for-5 with two singles, a double and a triple and Brian Yurovich and Chuck Arena each had had three hits including a home run and two RBI’s as Coast Guard totaled 22 hits enroute to its third straight win 15-8 over Nichols at the Gene Cusic Classic.

Coast Guard scored in each of the first six innings and led 8-2 in the middle of the fifth before Nichols College scored five runs in the home half of the fifth to pull to within 8-7.

The Bears responded with a six-run sixth inning to put the game away. In the sixth, Ken Franklin had an RBI double, Yurovich a solo homer, Christian George an RBI single and Bret Nichols a two-run single. Coast Guard had seven hits in the inning, five of them with two out.

Arena hit a two-run homer in the top of the first to begin the offensive onslaught. George, Nichols, Franklin, Adam Reckley and Keith Laird each had two hits for the Bears (4-2).

George had a team-high three RBI’s and two stolen bases for Coast Guard.

Freshman John Jeffares had an RBI single in his first career at-bat as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning to close the scoring.

Tony Guido (1-1) worked seven innings to pick up the win. Guido had picked up his first career save with two hitless innings in the win over Albion on Tuesday. Pete Schofield pitched two hitless innings to close out the Bears third straight win.
