Men's Track - Flint named New England Track Athlete of the Year
Senior Mike Flint was named the Division III New England Men's Track Athlete of the Year
TERRE HAUTE, IND.--(3/8/07)--Coast Guard Academy senior Mike Flint was named the Division III New England Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Flint won the 1,000 meters at the New England Division III Championships and is seeded second in the mile (4:09.88) entering the NCAA indoor meet.
Mike earned All-America status last season as he finished fourth in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Flint won the 1,000 meters with a school-record time of 2:27.25 at the ECAC Division III Championship at Wesleyan University last weekend.
Four returning NCAA champions led a distinguished group of coaches and athletes receiving regional awards for the 2007 Division III indoor track and field season. Each of the eight regions had men's and women's Coach of the Year, Track Athlete of the Year and a Field Athlete of the Year.
