Senior Bryan Radik was the New England runner up at 149 pounds for the second straight season.
Senior Bryan Radik was the runner up at 149 pounds for the second consecutive season while Bryan Conrad placed sixth at 125 pounds to earn All-New England honors as the Bears placed 12th of teams at the New England College Conference Wrestling Association (NECCWA) Championships at Roger Williams University.

Radik won his first three matches to earn a spot in the winners bracket final, where he lost 9-4 to Bridgewater State freshman Frank Cammisa. Radik then won 10-6 to earn a spot in the championship match, a rematch with Cammisa. In the championship match, Cammisa pinned Radik in 27 seconds to win the match.

Conrad, who earned All-New England honors for the first time, lost his opening match before battling through the losers bracket. He earned a spot in the fifth place match where he lost 8-5 to finish sixth.

Coast Guard was 5-9 in dual meets with the highlight coming with a 26-15 win over rival Merchant Marine as Dan Ippolito and Garrett Feldman recorded back-to-back pins in the final two matches of the night as the Bears came back to beat the Mariners.

Ippolito, a freshman, recorded a pin at 133 pounds at 4:44 to give the Bears a 20-15 lead. Feldman, a junior, secured the win with a pin at 5:40 of the match at 141 pounds as the Bears evened their record at 1-1 on the season. Radik, Kevin Whalen, Colin Boyle and Kevin Robinson also registered wins for the Bears.

The Bears also beat Western New England twice, 39-6 and 32-20, WPI 19-16 and Trinity 24-14.

At the All-Academy Championships, Radik finished fourth at 149 pounds and was the top Coast Guard finisher at the Air Force Academy.
