MIDDLETOWN, CONN.--(1/27/07)--Eric Laurel won the 5,000 meters with time of 12:42.74 to win the Wesleyan Invitational, a non scoring meet. The Bears' distance medley relay team of Mike Persun, Steve Bondira, Pat Fernandez and Mike Haas also won in 10:46.38.
Coast Guard also had five third-place finishes: Persun in the 1,600 (4:32.28), Thomas Adams in the 400 (51.46), Mike Gordon in the pole vault (12 feet, 51/2 inches), Tom Campbell in the high jump (6-11/2) and Chris Hunt in the weight throw (50-43/4).
