 Jesse Harms was named to the D3football.com All-America third team for the second straight season. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/18/06)--Coast Guard Academy junior punter Jesse Harms and freshman free safety Steve Arguelles were named to the 2006 D3football.com All-America team.
Harms, who led the NEFC and was fourth nationally with a 41.6 yard average, was named to the All-America third team for the second straight season. He was the first-team All-Bogan Division punter, a member of the New England Football Writers Division II/II team and led all of New England, Divisions I, II and III, with his 41.6 yard average.
Arguelles, who was named unanimous choice as the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division Defensive Rookie of the Year, a first-team All-division selection, a member of the New England Football Writers Division II/II team, earned honorable mention honors and was the only freshman of the 100 players named to the All-America team.
Coast Guard was 8-1 in the regular season and won the NEFC Bogan Division with a perfect 7-0 record. The Bears finished the season 8-3 after winning just seven total games in the last three seasons combined.
