 Freshman Steve Arguelles was second in the nation with 11 interceptions. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/8/06)--Coast Guard Academy freshman free safety Steve Arguelles and junior punter Jesse Harms were named to the 2006 D3football.com All-East Region team.
Harms, who led the NEFC and was fourth nationally with a 41.6 yard average, was named to the All-East team for the second straight season. He was the first-team All-Bogan Division punter and led all of New England, Divisions I, II and III, with his 41.6 yard average.
Arguelles, who was named unanimous choice as the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division Defensive Rookie of the Year and a first-team All-division selection, was named to the All-East second team.
Coast Guard was 8-1 in the regular season and won the NEFC Bogan Division with a perfect 7-0 record. The Bears finished the season 8-3 after winning just seven total games in the last three seasons combined.
