Men's Basketball - Prebeck Named NEWMAC Co-Player of the Week
Jeff Prebeck was named NEWMAC Co-Player of the Week.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/4/06)--Coast Guard Academy junior forward Jeff Prebeck has been named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Prebeck averaged 21.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Coast Guard. He notched 16 points and 16 rebounds as the Bears defeated previously undefeated Roger Williams 68-57. He followed that performance up by tallying 27 points and 11 rebounds in a 67-58 road victory over Johnson & Wales. He added five assists on the week as the Bears improved to 4-1 this season.
He leads the NEWMAC with 12 rebounds per game and is fourth in scoring with 18 points per game this season.
Prebeck shared the weekly award with freshman forward Erich Bracht from MIT. Bracht averaged 16.3 points and 13.7 rebounds while shooting 65.7% from the field.
