NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/30/06)--Freshman Melissa Martinelli had career and game high’s with 22 points and 12 rebounds and Coast Guard used a 12-0 run in the end the first half and a 14-1 run in the second half enroute to a 60-36 win over Albertus Magnus in a non-conference game.

Albertus Magnus got off to a quick start taking a 9-2 lead in the first four minutes of the game. The Falcons (0-3) led 19-16 with 6:55 left in the first half before the Bears ran off the final 12 points of the half for a 28-19 lead at the break and never looked back.

Coast Guard used a 14-1 run in the second half turning a 33-25 lead with 16:05 left into a 47-26 advantage with 9:33 remaining to put the game away.

Junior Natalie Moyer had 18 points and seven rebounds while junior DeCarol Davis had eight points and eight rebounds for the Bears (2-2).

Senior Missy Lumas led Albertus Magnus with 12 points.
