Senior Mike Flint earned All-New England honors for the third straight season.
Senior Mike Flint made this third consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championships, but a muddy sloppy course in West Chester, Ohio would not favor Flint as he placed 52nd of the 279 runners in his final chance to earn All-America status.

At the 2005 NCAA Championships, Flint could not overcome a fall and placed 64th of 201 runners.

Flint earned All-New England honors for the third straight season by placing a personal best sixth overall at the Division III New England Championship. He finished with a time of 25:53.7. Flint was 14th at the New England Championships as a sophomore and 10th as a junior.

Also in 2006, Flint won the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Cross Country individual championship for the second straight year leading the Bears to a second place finish for the ninth straight season. He won the race with a time of 26:44.70 to earn Runner of the Year honors for the second straight season.

Sophomore Mike Persun was the second best Coast Guard finisher placing 11th to earn All-conference honors for the second straight season.

Earlier in the season, Flint finished 12th overall at the All-New England Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships with a time of 25:10. The race had runners from Divisions I, II and III.

In addition to finishing first among the NEWMAC contingent, Flint topped all the Division III talent in a field of 303 runners.

Coast Guard won the Ray Dwyer and Roger Williams Invitationals during the season.

Flint also won both the Roger Williams Invitational and Gettysburg Invitational while placing second at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.

Flint was named NEWMAC Runner of the Week twice during the season.
