SALEM, MASS.--(11/18/06)--Junior guard Christine Cotter (scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half to go along with five rebounds and two steals as the Springfield beat Coast Guard 79-53 in the third place game of the Salem State College Tip-Off Tournament.
Cotter went 6-for-10 from the field in the second 20 minutes of play, connecting on two of her four three-point field goal attempts to help the Pride outscore the Bears 44-22 in the second half.
Junior Natalie Moyer led Coast Guard with 18 points while freshman Melissa Martinelli had 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Junior DeCarol Davis added 10 points for the Bears.
Corey Finch had a career-high 17 rebounds while scoring a career-high 15 points for Springfield. Lauren O'Connor recorded her second straight double-double on the season with 12 points and 10 boards.
