Senior Mike Flint won the Individual Championship for the 2nd Straight Season
SOUTH HADLEY, MASS.--(10/28/06)--Senior Mike Flint won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Cross Country individual championship for the second straight year leading the Bears to a second place finish for the ninth straight season.

Flint won the race with a time of 26:44.70 to earn Runner of the Year honors for the second straight season.

Sophomore Mike Persun was the second best Coast Guard finisher placing 11th to earn All-conference honors for the second straight season.



Other finishers for the Bears included: Zach Henninghausen, 16th, 28:03; Eric Laurel, 17th, 28:13; Mike Haas 23rd, 28:26; Kevin Sorrell, 30th, 29:01; Kyle Richter, 31st, 29:01.


MIT won the team title for the ninth straight season. The Engineers had 26 points. Coast Guard (63 points) edged out Springfield (64 points) for second place.
