Caitlin Quinn was fifth (11:39.7) in the steeplechase while Aidan VanCleef was eighth (11:45.90) earning All-New England honors capping the season as Coast Guard placed 23rd at the New England Division III Championships.
At the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships, JoEllen Arons won the 1500 meters in 4:46.17 and finished third in the 800 meters as Coast Guard placed fifth
Aidan Van Cleef (3000 steeplechase) and Chanel Lee (triple jump) also finished third for Coast Guard.
During the regular season, the Bears won the season opening Conn. Colege Invitational as Chanel Lee won the long jump (32-9) and Stacy Chmielecki was second in the 100 hurdles (16.67) and the 4x400 team of Abbie Harms, Dana Tomc, Natalie Moyer and Katie Colella was first in 4:15.57.
The Bears also placed second at the Silfen Invitational at Conn. College in the final regular season meet of the season as Arons won the 800 in 2:18.51. In the 3000 steeplechase, the CGA duo of Van Cleef and Quinn took first and second, respectively, in 11:38.09 and 11:46.08. while Jayna McCarron won the 1,500 (4:48.29). |
