Men's Outdoor Track - Crowley, Flint Earn All-America Honors Print E-mail
Senior Tom Crowley and junior Mike Flint ended the season by earning All-America honors at the Division III Championships.

Crowley, who competed in the javelin, had a throw of 201 feet to win his flight and advanced to the finals where he again had a throw of 201 feet which was good for sixth overall and his first All-American honor.
Flint, who also earned All-America honors during the indoor season with a fourth place finish in the mile, was seventh overall in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:54.10 to earn the second All-America honor of his career.

Sophomore Steve Blum competed in the decathlon and placed ninth, just missing All-America honors by 10 points. Blum totaled 6,307 points. Blum was second in the shot put (42-0.75) and the javelin (189-11), third in the high jump (6-1.5) and fifth in the discus (123-3) during the decathlon.

At the ECAC Championships, Zach Geyer tied for the championship in the high jump with a leap of 6-2.75 leading the Bears to a 16th place finish of the 51 teams. Flint finished fourth in the 1,500 meters (3:59.12) and Blum was fifth in the javelin (185-6) to also earn All-ECAC honors.

At the All-New England Championships, Flint finished second overall in the 1,500 meters (3:54.4) at the meet with consists of schools from Divisions I, II and III. Geyer was fourth in the high jump (6-6), Blum was fifth in the javelin (185-11) to also earn All-New England honors for the Bears, who finished 15th of 36 teams.

Flint won 1,500 meters (3:52.86) and Blum won the decathlon as the Bears placed 7th overall at the New England Division III Championships. Lee Crusius was fifth in the shot put (49 feet, 1/4 inches) to set a school record and the 4x100 relay team of Preston Hieb, Cory McCollow, Paul Sprenger and Lukas Spurrier were seventh (44.03). Geyer was fourth (6-5) and Tyler Asher (6-1/3) was seventh in the high jump. Crowley finished second in the javelin (188-7), Blum was fifth in the javelin (182-1) and Nate Rhodes was sixth in the pole vault (13-3).

At the NEWMAC Championships, Flint was a double winner taking the 800 meters in 1:56.59 and winning the 1500 meters in 3:59.87 as Coast Guard had its best finish ever, a second place finish Also winning events for the Bears were Jeremy Yandell in the 5000 (15:28.30), Geyer in the high jump (6-6) and Crowley in the javelin (191-0).
