United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics - Men's Cross Country - Flint Wins Gettysburg Invitational as Bears Place 3rd

GETTYSBURG, PA.--(10/14/06)--Senior Mike Flint won the Gettysburg Invitational to lead the Coast Guard Academy men's cross country team to a third-place finish Saturday.

Flint completed the five-mile course in 25 minutes, 24 seconds. Chris Heibell of Loyola College (Maryland) finished second, two seconds back.

Coast Guard scored 113 points. Loyola, a Division I team, finished first with 50 points, followed by Division III University of St. Thomas with 104 points.

Eric Laurel finished eighth in 26:21 for Coast Guard. Also for the Bears, Mike Persun was 19th (26:59), Mike Haas was 47th (27:36) and Zach Henninghausen was 48th (27:37).
