NORTHAMPTON, MASS.--(9/16/06)--Defending NEWMAC Champion Smith swept the Bears 3-0 (30-28, 33-31, 30-26) for its first win of the season. Coast Guard has been playing without one of its top players sophomore Nicole Gurr.
Gurr tried to play, but was not a factor, appearing in just one of the three games. Coast Guard (3-1, 1-1) committed 25 errors after making just 31 total in its first three matches of the season.
Corinne McCormack led the Bears with 16 kills and 18 digs. Christine Rostowfske had 33 assists and 12 digs for Coast Guard.
