Women's Crew - Bears Close Season at ECAC's Print E-mail
WORCESTER, MASS.--(5/9/10)--In their last race of the season, at the 2010 ECAC Invitational Championship, Coast Guard Women’s Rowing struggled to reproduce regular season results.

With final exams over and the Bears packed out of the Academy, the women were looking forward to finishing their 2009-2010 season strong.

Unfortunately for the Varsity 8, two of their regular season rowers were unable to compete and their ECAC results reflected that strength lost. Posting a disappointing 7:18.323 in their heat, Coast Guard finished fifth to Ithaca, UNH, William-Smith and Smith, placing them in the third level final.

Vowing to compete well that afternoon in their final, the Bears were unable to rally, finishing fourth behind previously beaten WPI and Wesleyan, and RIT. Upset by their season finale the Bears decided to leave the course focused on next year’s goals – determined to finish stronger in the Spring of 2011.

Racing for the Bears were (Soph) C Julianna Harvin, (Soph) 8 Rachel Thomas, (Soph) 7 Holly Madden, (Soph) 6 Tiffany Zehnle, (Soph) 5 Emily Balingit-Clark, (Soph) 4 Kelli Normoyle, (Soph) 3 Christine Roselli, (Sen) 2 Rachel Douglas, and (Frosh) bow Catherine Schmitz.
