United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics - Women's Cross Country - Bears Win Season Opening Smith Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, MASS.--(9/9/06)--Coast Guard Academy placed four runners in the top five and cruised to an easy victory in the Smith College Invitational women's cross country meet on Saturday.

The Bears placed all seven of their runners in the top 15 and finished with 27 team points to beat host Smith (36), which had the individual winner in Anna Cressotti, who finished the 5K course in 19:23.

Coast Guard followed with the next four places as senior Aidan Van Cleef was second (19:55), junior JoEllen Arons was third (20:05), senior Caitlin Quinn was fourth (20:09) and freshman Bryce Van Cleef was fifth (20:51).

In addition, Linnea Alejandre was 13th (21:40), Sara McGuigan was 14th (21:54) and Tessa Knott was 15th (22:00) for the Bears.
