Sam Ingham and Amanda Hamlet won A-Division by 8 points. New London, CT--(4/11/10)--Coast Guard hosted the first New London Invitational this past weekend, an event that attracted fifteen other teams from New England. Everyone in attendance was treated to beautiful racing conditions throughout the weekend, allowing the race committee to complete thirty six races. Both 420s and FJs were used to get everyone on the water at the same time. Coast Guard had a total of four teams competing in the regatta, the top of which finished 3rd overall due to a victory in A-Division by Sam Ingham '11 and Amanda Hamlet '12. The duo finished in the top-5 in 14 out of their 18 races, with four race wins. They finished with 68 points to win the division. Their teammates in B-Division, William Cotta '11 and Kristen Holloway '12, also sailed a great regatta. They posted several top-5 finishes and finished with 123 points, good enough for 6th in their division. The team combined for 191 points and finished 3rd overall.
