Chris Pappe won both his singles and doubles match to lead the Bears past Babson.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/7/10)--Coast Guard won the top four singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to beat Babson 6-3 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.
Greg Mitchell (#1 singles), Nick Martin (#2), Chris Pappe (#3) and Blake Maurer (#4) all won their singles matches for Coast Guard. Mitchell and Martin both won in straight sets.
Mitchell then teamed with Pappe to win 8-6 at #1 doubles while Martin and Maurer won 8-4 at #2 doubles for the Bears, who evened their record at 6-6 overall and 1-1 in conference action.
Babson drops to 4-9 overall and 1-1 in the NEWMAC.
