Softball - Feindel Named NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week
Hayley Feindel earned NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/5/10)--Sophomore Hayley Feindel was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the second time she won the award in three weeks.
Feindel was outstanding, as the Bears won all four games that they played, and she needed to be because the Bears won three of their four games by one run.
She was 4-0 last week with three shutouts, throwing a one-hitter and a pair of two-hit shutouts, and posted a 0.64 ERA. In 28 innings, she allowed 13 hits and two runs while walking just five and striking out 45. The opponents batting average against her last week was just .131.
Coast Guard, ranked third in New England, is now 16-4 overall and 7-1 in the conference. The Bears are in second place in the conference behind Babson which is 4-0 in league action.
