 Shadwick set a school-record in the 1,650 freestyle and placed 10th at the NCAA Championships. MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.--(3/21/10)--Junior Kim Shadwick broke her own school record in the 1,650 freestyle and placed 10th at the NCAA Division III Championships at the University of Minnesota.
Shadwick, the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year, posted a time of 17:09.23, breaking the school and NEWMAC Open record of 17:13.07 which she set at the NEWMAC Championship this season.
She also broke the school and NEWMAC open record with a 1,000 split time of 10:18.26 during the 1,650 event.
Making her second appearance at the NCAA Championships, Shadwick also placed 17th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.77 and she was 24th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:02.91.
At the NEWMAC Championships this season, she won the 1,650 freestyle for the second straight season breaking the old NEWMAC open and meet record of 17:18.62 and breaking her own school record of 17:19.89. She also set a pair of NEWMAC Championship and school records in winning both the 200 freestyle (1:51.66) and the 500 freestyle (4:58.50).
