United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics - Volleyball -- Bears Blank Johnson & Wales 3-0 in Season Opener

New London, Conn.--(9/6/06)--Sophomore Nicole Gurr had 21 kills while junior co-captain Corinne McCormack added 14 kills leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over Johnson & Wales in the Bears’ season opener.

Coast Guard (1-0) won both the first game and second game 30-17 before closing out the match with a 30-26 win in game three.

Senior co-captain Christine Rostowfske led Coast Guard with 31 assists and four aces.

Junior Kelle Pfunder had seven kills while Audra Vaccari had 12 digs and 15 assists for Johnson & Wales (2-2).
