The 2006 Bears squad will be one of strongest teams they have had in recent years.

All-New England junior JoEllen Arons, a two-time All-conference runner returns along with senior co-captain Caitlyn Quinn, who earned All-conference honors last season. Both Arons and Quinn also earned All-ECAC honors last season as the team placed fifth at the ECAC Championships.

Arons was second overall at the ECAC Championship, sixth at the NEWMAC Championship and 23rd at the New England Championship. Quinn placed 12th at both the ECAC and NEWMAC Championships.

The Bears will also welcome back four solid senior runners, Jayna McCarron, Meredith Nitzberg, Chelsea Smith and Aidan Van Cleef, all of whom missed the cross country season last year on the exchange program at other academies.

McCarron was an All-conference runner in 2004 while Nitzberg was the 2003 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year.

Head coach Leroy Falconi in his 24th season also returns several quality runners led by seniors Sara Foley and senior co-captain Anne Sullivan.

Juniors Samantha Gordon, Lauren Power and Lauren Tumulty round out a solid junior class.
