Men's Basketball - Bears Win NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award
Coast Guard which won the Castle Championship early in the season also won the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/2/10)--The Coast Guard men’s basketball team was presented the annual New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference’s (NEWMAC) Men’s Basketball Sportsmanship Award on Tuesday.
The award is voted by on by the student-athletes from each of the seven teams in the conference.
The NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award to the team in each sport that most closely demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct.
Coast Guard won the inaugural NEWMAC Men’s Basketball Sportsmanship Award in 2007.
The Bears were 7-16 overall and 4-8 in the conference play this season.
