Greg Marshall had a career-high 20 points in the win.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/13/10)--Freshman Greg Marshall led all scorers with a career-high 20 points as Coast Guard beat Babson 69-61 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Junior Jevon James recorded his sixth double-double of the season as he finished with 18 points and a game-highs with 10 rebounds and four blocks. Freshman Ed Gailor added a career-high 12 points in the win while Marshall also had eight rebounds.

The game was tied 30-30 at halftime.

Coast Guard (5-8, 2-1) used an 11-2 run in the second half to take control of the game turning a 43-43 tie with 11:14 left into a 54-45 advantage with 7:08 left.

Marshall was four for four from the foul line in the run and he finished eight for eight from the foul line as the Bears made 19 of 21 from the line after making just six of 12 in a loss to Connecticut College on Monday night.

Babson (6-8, 0-3) closed to within three at 58-55 following a basket by junior Matt Zoia with 3:24 left, but Gailor sank three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt and James sank two more with 2:36 left to push the lead to 63-55.

Coast Guard shot 46.2 percent from the floor (24-52) while making two of seven from 3-point range.

Babson, which had upset No. 9 Amherst 65-59 on Monday, shot 41.7 percent (25-60) from the field and five of 13 from 3-point range.
The Beavers held a 39-30 advantage on the boards including 15 offensive rebounds.
