Volleyball - Mason Named First Team All-Conference
Keriann Mason earned NEWMAC first team honors.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/10/09)--Coast Guard Academy freshman Kerriann Mason was named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-conference first team in voting by the league’s 10 head coaches.
Mason was part of a solid freshman class that led the Bears to a 25-5 record overall and 6-3 mark in the NEWMAC. She led the team and was 2nd in NEWMAC in hitting percentage (.329) , 2nd in aces/set (0.61) and 3rd in digs per set (4.09). She had only three receiving errors on the season (0.985%)
She was the WestConn Invitational MVP and NEWMAC Player of the Week on October 26th.
Third-seeded Coast Guard will take on sixth-seeded Johnson & Wales in the ECAC Tournament first round on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Bears are making their seventh ECAC appearance in the last nine years.
