Tim Olah was one of three Bears named to the All-conference team.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/10/09)--Coast Guard placed three players on the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-conference men’s soccer team as voted on by the league’s seven head coaches.
Senior goal keeper Tim Olah and junior forward Nick Devine were named to the first team while senior midfielder Jacob Larsen earned second team honors. It was the first time each of them earned All-conference honors.
Olah, the only goal keeper on the first team, posted a 1.63 goals against averaged and had two shutouts as Coast Guard finished 8-9-1 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Bears three conference losses were all by one goal, two of them in double overtime to the top two seeds. Five of the Bears nine losses on the season were by one goal.
Devine led the team with 10 goals and 23 points, both of which ranked him fifth in the conference. He led the team with three game winning goals and also scored four of the Bears nine goals in NEWMAC play this season.
Larsen was the Bears top midfielder and was tied for second on the team with three goals while also ranking second on the team with four assists. He had a pair of game winning goals this season including his only conference goal of the season vs. Springfield.
