Women's Cross Country - Knott Leads Bears to 5th Place Finish
Tessa Knott earned All-ECAC Honors for the first time in her career.
WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.--(11/07/09)--The Coast Guard Academy Bears competed among 46 teams from eight states and placed fifth at the 2009 ECAC Championship, which included a field of 300+ runners traversing the 6K course located at Mt. Greylock High School.
Senior co-captain Tessa Knott earned All-ECAC honors for the first time in her career as she led the Bears by finishing in 15th place with a time of 24 minutes, 12 seconds over the 6K course. Also finishing in the top 25 was freshman Sarah Blatt placing 22nd with a time of 24:45.
Junior Colin Fall kept the top five Coast Guard runners in a tight pack, who finished 44th with a time of 25:36. Senior co-captain Bryce VanCleef (25:38) and freshman Cat Truesdell (25:41) followed closely behind finishing in 47th and 49th to total five Coast Guard runners in the top 50.
Coast Guard’s next meet will be the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Southern Maine next Saturday, November 14 at the Twin Brooks Recreational Center in Cumberland, Maine.
