Women's Cross Country - Bears Capture Wellesley Invitational
Sarah Blatt led the way for the Bears as they won the Wellesley Invitational.
WELLESLEY, MASS.--(10/24/09)--Coast Guard women’s cross country won the Wellesley College Invitational edging out host Wellesley College by one point.
The Bears scored 28 points as a team, ahead of Wellesley, Connecticut College, and St. Joseph’s.
Sarah Blatt was the runner-up and top finisher for Coast Guard finishing the 5-kilometer course in 19:36. Tessa Knott was right behind in third place at 19:49.
Katie Schumacher came next for Coast Guard finishing 6th overall in 20:34. Teammates MaryKate Neatrour (20:42), Bryce VanCleef (20:43), and Cat Truesdell (20:45) finished in a tight pack taking 8th through 10th place.
Colin Fall was close behind finishing 11th (21:02) rounding out Coast Guard’s top seven runners.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, October 31st at the NEWMAC Championships to be held at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
