Men's Soccer - Eight Players Score as Bears Win Easily
Chris Tarbell picked up the win in goal and scored his first career goal in the second half.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/30/09)--Nick Devine scored a pair of goals and added an assist as eight different players scored and Coast Guard snapped a three-game losing streak with a 10-0 win over Wheelock in a non-conference game.
Devine, Spencer Ross and Jacob Larsen all scored in the first eight minutes of the match giving Coast Guard a 3-0 lead.
Frank Hackett, Devine and Anthony Walker also added goals in the first half as the Bears led 6-0 at the break.
Brett Godiksen, Devine, Matt Zangle, Larsen and David McNair all added first half assists for Coast Guard (4-5).
The Bears scored an own goal just 34 seconds into the second half before Kevin Noll, Peter Kelly and Chris Tarbell added second half goals. Daniel Spangler and Clay Niemiec had assists in the second half.
Tarbell played the first half in goal and made on save to pickup the win before entering as a field player and scoring his first career goal with 1:31 left in the game.
Sean Newmeyer made two saves in 25 minutes while Will Leffler made one save in the final 20 minutes for Coast Guard.
