Colin Fall was the third Coast Guard finisher as they placed 7th at the Conn. Invite.
WATERFORD, CONN.--(9/26/09)--Coast Guard ran its first 6K course of the season at the Connecticut College Invitational held at Harkness Memorial Park.

Once again, freshman Sarah Blatt and senior Tessa Knott led the way as the Bears placed seventh out of 15 competing teams.

Blatt and Knott completed the 6K course in 23:48 and 23:59 placing 21st and 26th overall. The next three runners from Coast Guard crossed the finish within 27 seconds of each other including Colin Fall (24:19), Bryce VanCleef (24:42), and Cat Truesdell (24:46).

Katie Schumacher and Julianna Neatrour round out Coast Guard’s top seven runners finishing in 25:00 and 25:35 respectively.

The Coast Guard women’s cross country team is off next weekend and will return to compete on 10/10/09 at the James Early Invitational at Westfield State College, as well as the All-Division New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
