Men's Outdoor Track - Bears Place 4th at NEWMAC Championships
Tyler Ashner won the high jump for the Bears.
SOUTH HADLEY, MASS.--(4/25/09)--Sophomore Carl Luxhoj won both the long jump (23-0.5) and triple jump (48-4.5) leading the Bears to a fourth place finish at the NEWMAC Championships.
Senior Tyler Ashner won the high jump (6-2) and Kyle Coleman won the 400 hurdles (55.0) for Coast Guard, who finished with 137 points.
Josh Wofford was fourth in the 400 meters (50.18) while the 4x400 relay team of David Boyle, Jesse Cremeans, Wofford and Coleman placed second with a time of 3:22.5.
Junior Mike Mrkvicka qualified for the New England Chanmpionships in the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:41.88) as he placed fourth.
