Women's Outdoor Track - Jefferson Wins Three as Bears Place Third
Anne Jefferson won three events in the first outdoor meet of the season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/21/09)--Junior Anne Jefferson won three events leading Coast Guard to a third placed finish at the season opening Conn. College Invitational.
Jefferson placed first in three events winning the shot put throwing 30’2”, the hammer throw with a mark of 101’0 and qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the discus throwing 110’10”.
Mary Morgan finished second in the javelin with a mark of 101’11” and Patty VanCleave cleared a height of 4’7” and placing 3rd. Emily Zalewski finished seocnd in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.11 and was a member of second place 4 x 400 relay team with KC Gaudette, Margaret Kratz, and Dana Tomc.
