Colleen Denny had a grand slam and six RBI in the win over St. Francis.
KISSIMMEE, FLA.—(3/11/09)—Senior Colleen Denny was three for four with a single, double, grand slam and she drove in six runs while junior Courtney Wolf had two hits including a homer and five RBI’s as the Bears came-from-behind to beat St. Francis of Indiana 17-10 in the first game of the day before falling to Shenadoah in extra innings for the second straight day, dropping a 2-1 decision at the Rebel Games.

In the opener, Coast Guard jumped out a 7-0 after one and half innings before St. Francis scored six in the second and four more in the third for a 10-7 lead.

Denny hit a grand slam in the top of fourth to give the Bears an 11-10 lead and Coast Guard added five insurance runs in the top of the seventh.

Freshman Hayley Feindel came in on relief and allowed two runs over the final five innings on four hits while striking out ten to pickup the win.

In game two, Shenadoah beat the Bears 2-1 in eight innings after winning 10-5 over Coast Guard in nine innings yesterday.

Feindel went the distance for Coast Guard scattering six hits and allowing just one earned run while striking out 11 and walking two. She suffered the first loss of her career to drop to 4-1.

Senior Jeannie Crump had a pair of hits including a double for Coast Guard (4-2).
