Softball - Coast Guard Splits Pair at Rebel Games
Annette Boston had five hits and five stolen bases in the doubleheader split.
KISSIMMEE, FLA.—(3/10/09)—Freshman Hayley Feindel fired a two-hit shutout with a season-high 12 strikeouts as the Bears beat Husson 8-0 after dropping a nine inning decision to Shenadoah 10-5 in nine innings at the Rebel Games.
Junior Courtney Wolf had three hits and two RBI while senior Annette Boston had two hits and two stolen bases and freshman Maddie Buchert added two hits and an RBI in the win.
In the first game of the day, sophomore Amanda Frederick and Wolf each had RBI singles in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game 5-5 after Shenadoah took a 5-3 lead in the top of the inning.
Shenadoah scored five times off Coast Guard reliever Crystal Lee Coonan in the top of the ninth to pickup the win.
Boston had three hits, three stolen bases and two runs scored in the opener while Frederick and Wolf each had two hits and an RBI in the loss.
