 Jesse Cremeans won the Pentathlon at the Division III New England Championship. CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(2/21/09)--Jesse Cremeans captured the men's pentathlon at the New England Division III indoor track and field championships at MIT and the Bears placed 5th of 24 teams.
Coast Guard finished with 51 points, three behind fourth place Bowdoin. Williams won with 145 points.
In the first day of action, Cremeans, who finished the five-event competition with 3,429 points, won the 1,000-meter race (2:36.90) and wound up second in the high jump (2.75 meters).
Teammate Kyle Coleman finished seventh in the pentathalon with 3,295 points, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 55 hurdles (8.30).
On day two, Carl Luxhoj finished second in the long jump (22-5.25) and third in the triple jump (46-8.75), Mike Persun was second in the 3,000 meters (8:43.78), David Boyle placed third in the 600 meters (1:22.94) and Thomas Adams placed sixth in the 400 meters (51.66).
