Senior Bryan Conrad and the Bears won twice to celebrate Senior Night.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(2/13/09)--Seniors Bryan Conrad and Kevin Robinson each picked up a pair of victories on Senior Night which was also head coach Steve Eldridge’s birthday as Coast Guard swept a tri-meet, its final dual matches of the season beating WNEC 23-18 and MIT 34-24.

In the Bears first match of the night against WNEC Matt Leisy won a crucial match at 165 pounds, the closest bout of the night, an 11-10 win, had he lost that match WNEC would have beaten Coast Guard 21-20.

Conrad won a forfeit at 133 pounds, Andrew Armstrong (141 pounds) won by pin at 6:20, Andy Snyder (157) won by tech. fall 17-1 while Robinson won an 8-0 decision at 174 pounds before WNEC won the final three bouts.

In the MIT match, Conrad fell behind 4-0 in the opening seconds before dominating the rest of the match for a13-5 major decision victory, his final time on the mat in a home meet.

Snyder picked up the fastest fall of the evening with a pin in just 24 seconds which gave Coast Guard the lead for good at 16-12.

Armstrong, Leisy, Robinson and Greg Bredariol all picked up forfeit wins as the Bears finished the dual meet season with a record of 4-11.
