Tyler Ashner took first place in the high jump as the Bears took the top three spots in the event.
CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(2/7/09)--Coast Guard lost a meet for the first time since the season opener in the 2006-'07 season as the Bears fell to New England powers MIT and Williams.

Host MIT won with 171 points, Williams was second with 117.5 points while Coast Guard had 87.5 points.

The Bears took the top three spots in the high jump as Tyler Ashner (1st), John Jaskot (2nd) and Kyle Coleman (3rd) all had a jump of six feet, 1.25 inches.

David Boyle won the 600 meters with a time of 1:23.66.

Jordan Kellam placed second in the pole vault (14-8.75) while Michael Comerford took third (14-2.75).

Carl Luxjoj took second in the long jump (22-3) and third in the triple jump (44-5.25).

The Bears 4x400 meter relay team of Kyle Coleman, Boyle, Jesse Cremeans and Tom Adams won with a time of 3:17.12 while the 4x800 meter relay team of Mike Persun, Mike Mrkvicka, Pat Fernandez and Mike Haas were second with a time of 8:04.02.
