Jesse Cremeans won the high jump as the Bears won the Tufts Invitational #2.
MEDFORD, MASS.--(1/31/09)--Jesse Cremeans won the high jump and two Coast Guard relay teams won as the Bears captured the Tufts Invitational #2.
Cremeans had a jump of 6-1.25 to win the high jump while the 4x400 meter relay team of Kyle Coleman, David Boyle, Bret Morris and Thomas Adams won with a time of 3:30.09 and the distance medley relay team of Mike Persun, Mike Haas, Pat Fernandez and Dan Miller had a winning time of 10:30.29.
Coast Guard finished with 158 points while WPI was second with 152 points.
Tyler Ashner placed second in the high jump, also with a jump of 6-1.25 while Mike Haas was second in the mile (4:23.71).
Carl Luxhoj placed second in both the long jump (21-8) and triple jump (43-5.75) while Matt Tolliver placed fourth in the triple jump (42-4.75).
Kyle Coleman finished second in the 400 meters (51.66) while David Boyle was third (51.93).
Tyler Miller (23.59) and Thomas Adams (23.70) went two-three in the 200 meters.
Pat Fernandez was third in the 1,000 meters with a time of (2:34.98) while Mike Persun was third in the 3,000 meters (8:43.42).
Jordan Kellham (14-2.75) was third in the pole vault while Michael Comerford (14-2.75) took fourth.
The Bears had 12 Division III New England Championship and seven ECAC Championship qualifiers in the meet.
