Men's Indoor Track - Bears Win Springfield Invitational
Carl Luxhoj won both the long jump and triple jump to lead the Bears.
SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(1/24/09)--Carl Luxhoj won the long jump (22-4.25) and triple jump (44-2.5) as Coast Guard won the Springfield Invitational.
The Bears edged out host Springfield 186 to 178 for the win.
Also for Coast Guard Mike Haas won the 800 meters (2:00.66), Mike Persun won the mile (4:24.15), Jordan Kellam won the pole vault (14-2.75) and Pat Page won the weight throw with a throw of 44 feet, 9.75 inches.
Haas and Persun teamed up with Pat Fernandez and Chris Marquis to win the 4 x 800m relay.
In the final event of the meet, Carl Stokes, Andrew Kaufman, and Page secured the win for the Bears with a 3rd, 4th, and 5th place finish in the shot put.
