NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/8/09)--The Mariners won nine of the 10 matches, three by forfeit and two by pin as Merchant Marine, ranked 12th nationally, beat Coast Guard 43-4.
Junior Andrew Armstrong recorded the only win for the Bears as he beat Logan Little 10-2 in the 141 pound weight class.
The Mariners improve to 7-3 on the season while Coast Guard drops to 0-2 in dual meets.
Merchant Marine now leads Coast Guard 4-2 in race for the the 2008-’09 Superintendent’s Trophy, the next two points are up for grabs on Jan. 24th when Coast Guard hosts men’s and women’s swimming and diving at noon.
