Women's Swimming - Shadwick Leads Bears to 2nd Place Finish
Kim Shadwick had a hand in five event victories for the Bears.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/7/08)--Kim Shadwick won three individual events and a was part of two winning relay teams as Coast Guard had its best ever finish, second place, at the two-day Connecticut College Invitational.
Kim Shadwick won 500 freestyle (5:12.85), 200 freestyle (1:59.37) and the 1650 freestyle (18:25.06) and teamed with Amy Olson, Megan Willmann and Heidi Gayman to win the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:15.51. Gayman, Sarah Jane Otey, Sam Sworden and Shadwick won the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 8:09.76.
It was the first time the Bears captured a relay event at the Conn. College Invite.
Also for the Bears, Krystyna Vihonski won 200 breaststroke (2:32.05)
Sworden was second to Shadwick in both 500 free and 1650 free events while Gayman was second in the 200 free to Shadwick.
