 Sarah-Jane Otey won both the 100 and 100 freestyle events to lead the Bears past WPI. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/22/08)--Sarah-Jane Otey won both the 100 and 1,000 freestyle leading Coast Guard to a 166.5-115.5 win over WPI, the Bears first win of the season.
Otey posted a time of 56.78 in the 100 freestyle and a time of 11:24.60 in the 1,000 freestyle event.
Kim Shadwick won the 200 freestyle event (1:58.44) and set a pool and school record in the 500 freestyle (5:11.61).
Also winning for the Bears were Joyce Haynsworth in the 100 backstroke (1:06.91), Amy Olson in the 100 breaststroke (1:11), Trace Womack in the 200 butterfly (2:25.21), Heidi Gayman in the 50 freestyle (25.19), Alyse Marquinez in the 1-meter diving event (179.70), Krystyna Vihonski in the 200 breaststroke (2:33.98) and Ariana Pourmonir in the 3-meter diving (194.05).
The 400 medley relay team of Jordan Mestemaker, Vihonski, Megan Willman and Gayman won with a time of 4:18.10. |
