NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/19/08)--Seniors Alex Gebhart and Bryan Conrad each recorded wins, but Roger Williams beat Coast Guard 37-10 in the Pilgrim Wrestling League opener for both teams, it was also the first dual meet of the season for the Bears.
Coast Guard forfeited the first match at 125 pounds before Conrad beat Andrew Jackson 17-5 at 133 pounds to cut the Roger Williams lead to 6-4.
With the Bears trailing 10-4, Gebhart, who was trailing 7-2 in his match, then pinned Anthony Cirello at 4:55 to even the match 10-10 after four weight classes.
The Hawks (2-0, 1-0), would win the final six matches, including a forfeit at heavyweight.
