United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics - Wrestling - Armstrong, Stark Take 4th at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I.--(11/15/08)--Junior Andrew Armstrong and sophomore Will Stark each took fourth place in their weight classes as the Bears placed 12th at the Roger Williams Invitational.

Armstrong, competing at 141 pounds, lost his first match 4-3 before winning four straight matches, (8-4, 8-1, 14-6 and a pin (3:16)), to earn a spot in the third place match, which he lost 11-2.

Stark, who was in the 165 pound bracket, won by pin in just 1:28 in his opening match, then won 5-2 before a 13-5 loss to eventual champion Mike Morin from Southern Maine sent him to the consolation bracket. Stark won his first match in the consolation bracket 11-5 before losing 5-3 in the third place match.

Also for the Bears, senior Bryan Conrad placed fifth at 133 pounds. He won his first match 11-3 before getting pinned. Conrad won a pair of matches, 10-2 and 11-10 before losing 13-3 to get knocked into the fifth place match which he won 5-3.
