Jim Okorn placed second in three events including a relay as the Bears split at Wheaton.
NORTON, MASS.--(11/15/08)--Junior Timmy Berry and sophomore Mike Carman each won two events as Coast Guard beat Wheaton 246-41, but fell to nationally ranked NYU 179-121 at Wheaton College.
Berry won both the 100 backstroke (55.29) and the 200 backstroke (2:00.79) and placed second in the 100 butterfly (54.34).
Carman captured the 100 breaststroke (1:00.9) and the 200 breaststroke (2:12.88).
The Bears have several second place finishers in the meet as freshman Matt Odom placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.51), senior Jim Okorn was second in both the 100 freestyle (48.48) and the 200 freestyle (1:47.48), sophomore Dan Alley was second in the 200 butterfly (2:04.16) and freshman Johnson Knox took second in the 50 freestyle (22.04).
The 400 freestyle relay team of Knox, Okorn, freshman Bryan Andrews and freshman Dan Beshoar were second (3:15.47) and the 400 medley relay team of Berry, senior Jack Sauve, Alley and Okorn took second with a time of 3:37.75
