Men's Soccer - Harner Named to NEWMAC All-Academic team
Tom Harner was the only player from the men's team honored by the NEWMAC.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/12/08)--Coast Guard placed three student-athletes on the 2008 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Academic soccer teams.
Senior Meaghan Gies (Marine and Enviromental Sciences) and sophomore Jen Brockway (Marine and Environmental Sciences) were named from the women’s team while sophomore Tom Harner (Operations Research and Computer Analysis) earned a spot on the men’s team.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2008 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at his or her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
