Women's Soccer - Kurek Named to All-Conference team
Katie Kurek earned All-conference honors for the first time in her career.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/11/08)--Coast Guard junior forward Katie Kurek was selected to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-conference second team in voting by the league’s 10 head coaches.
She is the first Coast Guard player since Hillary Allegretti in 2004 to earn All-conference honors.
Kurek led Coast Guard with 12 goals, one shy of the single-season school record, while also leading the team with 26 points.
The Bears won just one game (1-15) in 2007 when Kurek missed the final 13 games with a season ending injury.
Coast Guard was 5-11 overall and 1-8 in conference play this season.
